Role Description
About the role
This is an exciting career move that will allow you to take ownership of components of high-end residential projects in the UK and abroad to support the design direction of the Project Leader. You will have a positive and professional attitude at all times towards clients, suppliers and the wider design team.
You will have a meticulous eye for design and detail, evident in your well put together portfolio and the ability to document independently. Using AutoCAD is an advantage but not essential as further training can be provided.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare concept designs with Senior Interior Designers, Interior Architects and/or Design Directors
• Learn to contribute and present to both internal and external stakeholders
• Understand the project scope and work towards the agreed deliverables and timelines
• Prepare spatial planning and schematic design schemes (RIBA Stage 2)
• Assist in preparing design development presentations and documentation (RIBA Stage 3)
• Assist in preparing tender documentation packages including drawings, details, schedules and specifications (RIBA Stage 4)
• Assist in liaising with the wider design team including engineering services, specialist sub consultants and suppliers as required
• Assist in liaising with clients, taking meeting minutes and any project related filing (i.e., project correspondence and drawing files)
• Assist and be confident in detailed design and construction packages, ensuring all documentation carried out to the highest standard. Technical detailing and understanding of buildability is key.
• Ability to answer site RFI’s and attend Design Team (consultant) meeting with team leader
About you
You will have previous experience of working within a collaborative, creative and resourceful team. You will have specialised experience in the design and construction of architecture/interior architecture for high-end residential and/or hospitality projects.
You will be able to demonstrate
• 3+ years’ experience (or equivalent) working in the Interior Design and/or Architecture industry
• Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Interior Architecture or Architecture
• You must be capable of producing work packages independently (with input from senior lead) and within a team to RIBA Stage 4
• High End Residential or Hospitality experience highly regarded
• Demonstrate exceptional skills in overarching concept design to design development
• Good technical knowledge and ability to develop architectural and joinery detailing, taking the design through to documentation with the assistance of a Senior Interior Architect and/or Design Director
• Ability and confidence in dealing with suppliers, consultants and the wider design team
• Familiar with UK building regulations and standards relevant to the project/role
• Excellent understanding of Adobe InDesign and Photoshop; SketchUp and 3D Studio Max is an advantage
• Good understanding of suppliers, materials, hardware, sanitaryware, lighting and hardware specifications
• Understanding of cost and assisting Senior Interior Architect and/or Design Director to help deliver exceptional results within the architectural, ID and FF&E budgetary framework set out by the client or stakeholder(s)
